Hello! I’m Lisa, and welcome to Tinker Creek Handknits.

Tinker Creek Handknits was inspired in the early 2000s, when I was at home with my chilren Ana, Aaro and Lauren. Creativity was a priority for us, and we spend days making, drawing, photographing, knitting….and I began to design and write knitting patterns.

A creative business had been on my mind for a while. I wanted to work from home and involve my children in the business. I launched my online Etsy shop, Tinker Creek Handknits, in 2016. My kids gave me input on the styles and colors of the hats, mitts, socks, cowls and headwarmers that I designed. And, the were excellent models.

After 2000 sales and 2oo five star ratings, I launched my own website, right here.

Now, all three children are grown; on to college and careers. I miss those days when we were all at home “making” together, but I’m just as excited about designing handknits from a quieter studio at home.

My children have always been my biggest inspiration, but I’m noticing other creative influences growing on me. Places…such as the Outer Banks of North Carolina….the Blue Ridge mountains and forests that I call home…Nature…trees, rocks, wind, weather… Seasons…especially fall and winter!…and Time…to contemplate, consider and imagine…
