Knitting Pattern for matching hat and fingerless gloves!

The Mill Mountain Mitts Pattern and Hat Pattern is Tinker Creek Handknits' best selling pattern ever! Thousands of knitters have downloaded this pattern since 2016, and I just updated it for Fall 2023/Winter 2024! Thanks to my customers for trying this pattern out...the reviews show that the pattern was well-received!

This pattern has been tech-edited and test-knit.
Cable Knit Fingerless Gloves pattern calls for worsted weight yarn... I used Cascade 220 Heather, colorway #8401 Silver Gray, which is still avilable and #8640 Cedar Green, which has been discontinued.

Needles: I used Size 6 and 7 (4 mm) and (4.5) double pointed needles.

Notions: Cable needle, yarn needle, stitch markers, stitch holder.

Contains charts and written instructions.

Skill level: Intermediate. The instructions include both long tail and backwards loop cast on, picking up stitches, knitting, purling, cables, increasing stitches, a "right twist" stitch and forming a thumb gusset.

Cable Knit Beanie

This hat will fit slightly "slouchy".

Finished Measurements:
Size: Average Adult Woman/Teen
20.5” (52 cm) circumference unstretched, to fit best fit head circumferences of 21”-23”. 9.25” (23 cm) length from base to top of crown, unstretched

Yarn: Cascade Yarns Cascade 220 Heathers #8401 Silver Gray (220 yds/200 m per 100g/3.5 oz), 1 skein.

Needles: U.S. 6 (4 mm) 16” (40 cm) 16” (40 cm) circular needles and U.S. 6 (4 mm) double pointed needles.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Cable needle, yarn needle, stitch markers.

Gauge: 27 sts and 32 rounds = 4” (10 cm) in pattern stitch on U.S. 6 (4 mm) needles or needles required to match gauge.

Skill level: Intermediate. Instructions call for: long tail cast on, knitting, purling, decreasing stitches, cabling, right twist stitch, binding off, and making a pom pom. Included is a video link to a tutorial on making pom poms.
