Putting on wool socks in October is a cozy way to celebrate fall! You won’t believe how quickly you can knit a pair with the October One-Skein Sock pattern. The pattern calls for worsted weight yarn, a heavier weight than traditional sock yarn, so they knit up quickly.

Sizes:

6.5" (16.5 cm) circumference unstretched

8.25" (21 cm) length unstretched from tip of toe to heel.

Stretches to best fit feet 8.75" (22.2 cm) to 9.5" (24 cm) in length, or average U.S. women’s shoe sizes 6 to 8.

Yarn:

Approximately 122 yards (112 m) Malabrigo Rios in colorway 227 Volcan; however, you can substitute any worsted weight yarn.

Needles:

Size 5 (3.75 mm) double pointed needles. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Skills:

The instructions include the following techniques: either a Double Start or Long Tail cast on, knit and purl stitches, slipped stitches, cable stitches, decreases, short rows, picking up stitches and the Kitchener Stitch.
