The Golden Hour Cowl

The Golden Hour Cowl is named for that special “in-between” time, just after sunrise or before the sun sets, when the light is a just a bit more golden and beautiful. I used Woolfolk’s Far yarn in colorway 27 to create a design for a worsted weight yarn neck cowl with golden cables all around. New to cable knitting? Pattern includes video tutorials about how to knit cables step-by -step. It’s a perfect introduction to cable knitting.

Size: 29”(74 cm) circumference unstretched.

8.25" (21 cm) length unstretched from bottom to top of cowl.

Yarn: Approximately 2 skeins of Woolfolk Yarn Far (142 yds/130 m, 50 g) in Colorway 27 . I used 96 g of yarn. You can substitute with any worsted weight yarn.

Needles: Size 7 (4.5 mm) circular needle, 24” (60 cm).

Skills: Casting on, knit and purl stitches, cable stitches, binding off. Links to 4 video tutorials on casting on techniques and how to perform the cable stitches. Chart and written instructions. Pattern support available!

The instructions include the following techniques: either a Double Start or Long Tail cast on, knit and purl stitches, slipped stitches, cable stitches, decreases, short rows, picking up stitches and the Kitchener Stitch.
